Broadcasting a game

Prepare the YouTube channel

Enable live streaming before game day and check eligibility on the device you will use. Activation may take up to 24 hours. The YouTube mobile app requires at least 50 subscribers; accounts below 1,000 can have viewer limits.

Add the game in Coaches’ Dugout

Authorized staff can create the game, enter its opponent, field and Central start time, and publish the schedule.

Connect the broadcast

Create a public or unlisted YouTube live broadcast, allow embedding, and copy its watch link into the game. Unlisted links can be forwarded; they are not private. Set the audience accurately under YouTube’s rules.

Set up at the field

Mount a charged phone securely behind home plate, frame the field in landscape, and connect a battery pack. Test the field’s upload connection and audio. Follow the team and venue’s filming rules.

Start in YouTube, then update Prospects

Start the camera broadcast in YouTube or compatible streaming software. Verify it plays, then mark the game Live here. The Live control only updates the game listing; it does not start a camera. A second staff member can update the manual score.

Finish and save the replay

End the broadcast in YouTube and mark the game Final here. Keep the recording viewable and replace the video link if needed. Add named timestamps for highlights once the recording is ready.
